What is styling in salsa dancing? Both men and women style while dancing salsa. Styling is just self-expression. In one sense you cannot teach self-expression because self-expression is personal to the person expressing what they feel from the music, and what they hear in the music and how it moves them. There are classes one can take and ideas of styling that can be shared, and many find themselves wanting guidance in that area. Many years of experience have revealed self-expression only truly comes from comfort. Once a person is really comfortable with what they are doing on the dance floor, then they will naturally express themselves. Otherwise, you are just learning choreography and choreography isn’t really self-expression.
